What You Need To Know About Florence Pugh And Her Rescue Dog

There are a million reasons to love Florence Pugh. She began her career as an indie darling, starring in acclaimed films like “Lady Macbeth,” “Fighting with My Family,” and “Midsommar.” In 2020, she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in “Little Women.” (She almost made me forgive Amy for destroying Jo’s writing). Most recently, she became everyone’s favorite actor in the MCU with her portrayal of Yelena Belova in “Black Widow.” Pugh also happens to be a massive dog lover.

The 25-year-old and her beau, Zach Braff, own an adorable rescue dog called Billie. The “Scrubs” star announced that he became the dog’s pup parent on Instagram in April 2020. In the caption of the post, Braff shared that they had attempted to just be the pup’s foster family.

“Officially adopted, Billie. Thanks to the @thelabellefoundation .We tried to foster, but then we fell in love.#fosterfail #adoptdontshop,” wrote Braff.

During an April 2020 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Braff discussed adopting Billie during the pandemic. He stated that getting the pup was “the greatest thing that ever happened.” The actor told the publication:

“We thought we were going to foster this dog, but we did this thing that I didn’t know was an expression called ‘foster fail.’ I’ve learned and love the term. A lot of shelters are looking for people to foster — and in the spirit of, ‘I want to do something, what the f*** can I do?’ we thought this is something we can do. And of course, within like 30 seconds of having this puppy, we were like, ‘We’re never giving this puppy back.’ I joke that we should have named her serotonin because she just brings so much joy to me.”

The feeling seems to be mutual, as Billie seems to be having the time of her life with her pup parents. For instance, on July 25, 2021, Pugh wished the lovely lady a “Happy Birthday” on Instagram. In the picture, the sweet pup seemed to be enjoying herself while lying in the grass with a ball in her mouth.
