Fans Share Support for Hilary Swank After Sad Loss: 'It Was Unexpected'

Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank shared devastating news with her fans. 

On October 27, Swank took to her Instagram account to share that her beloved dog, Kai, had died. The post featured several photos of the very good boy throughout his lifetime. 

In the caption, she said that her dog’s passing “was unexpected.” 

“Although any soul transition seems unexpected, doesn’t it? Even if you have time to process it, long before it happens. It still feels sudden. And surreal. And ever so heartbreaking. Please help me in saying goodbye to our dear four-legged family member, Kai,” read a portion of the caption. 

In addition, Swank shared that her pup “was such a good boy” and had a “way of becoming everyone’s favorite.” 

“You will be missed beyond measure. Thank you for being next to me, so steadfast, through so many years and so many transitions. I love you, always and forever. See you later, my boy with the polka dot feet and polka dot belly,” concluded Swank in the post’s caption. 

Several fans flocked to the post’s comments section to share their condolences for Swank. 

“Dogs have a way of making you feel loved and protected. They have unconditional love that no person can give you and your sweet Kai looks just like my girl whose name is Kiah! I’ll be thinking of you,” wrote a commenter. 

“No words can describe this pain so sorry for your loss  is hard to feel understood but i write to her every day and it has helped.,” added another. 

“I know this pain all too well. I’m sure you gave Kai a beautiful life as I did mine,,” shared a third person.
