Are Kiwis Good for Dogs?

I'm not ashamed to admit that I have completely spoiled my dog. She gets at least one new toy every few weeks and has dozens of outfits. What can I say? She is a little princess who deserves everything her heart desires.

Despite her lavish lifestyle, she has some complaints. For instance, she doesn't love how strict I am about her diet. She thinks it is a crime that I rarely feed her “people food.”

I will point out, however, that she occasionally gets some fruits that are safe for canine consumption, like kiwi.

According to Pet MD, our furry friends can eat kiwis as long as the skin has been sliced off. You should also cut the fruit into tiny slices before giving it to your dog.

The fruit has quite a few benefits. PetMD reported that kiwis are quite nutritious -- full of “vitamin C, fiber, and potassium.”

Please speak to your vet prior to handing over some kiwi to your canine. The fruit may not be suitable for all dogs – specifically, those who are diabetic or have stomach issues.
