The summer is the perfect time to take some days off and explore a city you have never been to before. If you are a pup parent, you’ll likely want to bring your furry friend with you. Now, this can be a little tricky because some places are more dog-friendly than others. Thankfully, St. Louis, Missouri, has awesome places that welcome pups. Here are some spots to take Spot if you decide to travel to St. Louis this summer.
International Tap House - Soulard
Head over to the International Tap House for a fun night on the town with your dog. If you are over the age of 21, you can enjoy some alcoholic beverages with your dog by your side on the patio.
Gateway Arch National Park
It would be remiss to not visit Gateway Arch National Park when you are in St. Louis. This National Park is home to a gorgeous steel catenary arch that is a must-see.
St. Johns Community Dog Park
Your dog can make new friends at St. Johns Community Dog Park. This expansive area is shaded with plenty of trees, so it’s a perfect place to take your canine companion during the summer months.
Laumeier Sculpture Park
If your dog is a modern art fan, you need to take him to the Laumeier Sculpture Park. You and your furry friend can marvel at incredible pieces like a giant eyeball, appropriately titled “Eye.”
Riverboats at the Gateway Arch
One of the best ways to sightsee in St. Louis is to go on a Riverboat Cruise at the Gateway Arch. Canine companions are welcomed on the hour-long cruise as long as they are leashed.
Bar K St. Louis
You may find it unsurprising that an establishment called Bar K St. Louis welcomes pups with open arms. This awesome bar has a sizable dog park where your pooch can play to her heart’s content. Popular items from the drink menu include the Straw Dog and the Spicy Pineapple Papillon. There’s also a menu curated just for canines! I know my pup will be ordering beef stew and a bottle of the finest FetchMe Noir.
The Boathouse
The Boathouse is an idyllic dog-friendly restaurant located on the banks of Post-Dispatch lake. You and your furry friend can enjoy your meal while looking out at the gorgeous body of water.
