7 Best Places To See Fall Foliage With Your Furry Friend

Autumn is in full swing, meaning it’s time to cozy up by a fire, sip some hot chocolate, and watch the leaves falling outside. One of my dog’s favorite fall activities is jumping in leaf piles. Now, this was an issue when we lived in California, as the seasons do not change. Fortunately for her, we have since moved so she can stomp around in foliage during the fall as much as she pleases.

If you also live in a seasonless city, do not fret. We have compiled a list of the best places in the United States to see the fall foliage with your furry friend.

The Poconos, Pennsylvania

Those who live on the East Coast are aware that The Poconos is a popular destination, especially during the colder months. Tourists and their furry friends should spend at least one day marveling at the Bushkill Falls.

Bar Harbor, Maine

The Bar Harbor is located along Frenchman Bay. Many visitors find the tree-lined landscape breathtaking, particularly in the fall. During your stay, you and your furry friend can check in at Balance Rock Inn On The Ocean. After you are well-rested, you can venture out and explore Acadia National Park. Those who do not get seasick should also consider taking a cruise on the Schooner Margaret Todd alongside your canine companion.

Aspen, Colorado

You and your dog can marvel at all of the natural beauty Aspen, Colorado, has to offer. To see all the sights, we recommend hiking the Rio Grande Trail. After watching you get your fill of Aspen foliage, you and Fido can sit down and enjoy a meal at one of the city’s many dog-friendly restaurants, like Clark's Oyster Bar and Meat and Cheese Restaurant and Farm Shop

Catskill Mountains, New York

The Catskill Mountains are one of the most gorgeous destinations in the great state of New York. Families with pets often stay at The Kaaterskill Inn. Unsurprisingly, one of the most popular activities in the Catskill is hiking. Visitors who would like to be enveloped in nature will enjoy trekking the Sam's Point Area. After working up a serious appetite, you and your precious pup can enjoy a hot meal at Hickory BBQ and Smokehouse

Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

My furry friend and I believe that Oregon offers some of the most beautiful landscapes in America. Granted, we are biased as we currently call the great state our home.

Regardless, every pet parent and their pooch should visit the Multnomah Falls Trail in their lifetime.

Brooklyn, New York

If you and your dog prefer visiting a city that is a little more lively this fall, look no further than Brooklyn, New York. Not only will you appreciate the changing foliage, but you can also visit your fair share of hip dog-friendly restaurants, like Buttermilk Channel and Morgan’s Brooklyn Barbecue

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is the home to quite a few gorgeous spots that Spot will love. Both locals and visitors are fond of Falmouth Dog Park and the Fresh Pond Conservation Lands
