6 New Year's Resolutions You Can Make With Your Dog
2024 has officially come to an end! That means there’s a good chance that you are currently jotting down your New Year’s Resolutions. While we’re all here to better ourselves, sometimes it's difficult to stay motivated. For this reason, it may be helpful to have your canine companion help you achieve your goals for 2025.
To make your life a little bit easier, here are some resolutions you and your dog can make together!
Go on a 30 Minute Walk a Day
Both you and your dog need exercise. However, this doesn’t mean you and your furry friend should sign up for CrossFit or get really into pilates. Instead, you can just go on a walk. According to Better Health, going on a 30-minute stroll every day “can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance.”
Stick With a New Hobby
Every year, I try to find a new hobby. Unfortunately, I get bored very easily. In 2024, one hobby did stick. I began knitting my dog some blankets. My next step will be dog sweaters. Everyone will be jealous of how cozy and fashionable my furry friend is.
Practice Self-Care
When you are busy, it's easy to neglect yourself. This upcoming year, start treating yourself like you would your dog. Go on walks, make sure you are practicing good hygiene, staying hydrated, and eating healthily. Also, don't forget to have fun and treat yourself!
Get a Check-up at Least Once a Year
One of the hardest things about being an adult human is remembering to go to the doctor. That said, if you have the means, consider getting at least one check-up in 2024.
The same goes for your pooch! If you have a senior dog, you should schedule veterinary appointments at least twice a year.
Change Up Your Look
Life is short so why not change your and your dog’s looks? Maybe you can finally get the short shaggy haircut you’ve always wanted but were too afraid to try.
As for your furry friend, maybe they’ve always wanted to wear some bows or a beautiful bandana.
Go on More Adventures
While it’s tempting to stay curled up on the couch, you and your dog will have more fun if you go on some adventures. Go to the dog beach, make friends at the dog park, go camping, or head to your local hiking trail. No matter what you decide to do, we know you’ll have a blast because your furry friend is by your side!
