5 Super Fun Ways to Spend Memorial Day Weekend With Your Dog
I don't know about your dog, but my furry friend insists on doing something fun every time there’s a three-day weekend. And if I don’t listen to her commands, she throws a three-day tantrum.
For these reasons, I’ve made sure to plan out what I will be doing with my dog this Memorial Day Weekend. Feel free to use this for some inspiration for your long weekend plans if your dog also insists on doing something outside the house.
Go on a Road Trip to See Some Local Sites

While my dog isn't in the car, she also appreciates a fun road trip. For instance, I recently drove her from our hometown of Portland to Forks, Washington, to have a Twilight-themed weekend. And she had a blast! Even though she didn’t get to meet her dream man, Charlie Swan.
Anyway, before heading out on your weekend road trip make sure that you have all the proper supplies. We recommend bringing a first aid kit, plenty of food and water, and your dog’s favorite toy, so they don’t get bored while you are driving on long stretches. If you have an older dog, you may also want to check with your vet to see if long car rides are a good idea.

It's always fun to explore the great outdoors with your pup. Once you’ve checked that the site you’re staying at allows canine companions, you should pack your dog their very own camping supplies pack with dog food, water, a collapsible bowl, a canine first aid kit, a harness, a leash, and some biodegradable poop bags.

Most Americans celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with a BBQ. Fire up the grill and invite all of your friends (of the human and canine variety). Your dog can even have a little bit of steak, as long as it’s not seasoned or has any oil/ butter on it. Just be sure to talk to your dog’s vet before adding anything new, like steak, to their diet!

Tire your dog out by taking them on a hike! In order to be courteous to other hikers, please remember to keep your dog on a leash and pick up their waste.
