Carrie & Gary the Frenchie: A Princess And Her Dog
Our Hearts Hurt for Gary, Carrie Fisher’s Frenchie. Rest in Peace, Carrie, you were one of our favorites.
As an enormous Star Wars fan and I was so bummed to hear the news that beloved actress Carrie Fisher, died today at the age of 60. She was best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga and as an incredible writer.
As millions share their thoughts on her passing, we wanted to give extra special attention to Carrie’s loveable celebrity pooch, Gary the Frenchie. As word broke of Carrie’s medical emergency, Gary quickly took to his Twitter to wish his mom well. These two were such a dynamic duo and equally a great match-an incredibly charismatic pup and an epic hooman.
Carrie was a very vocal advocate for mental illness which is something to be admired. Gary was Carrie's therapy dog who was her companion and got to see so many sites and meet so many people. Gary was always a staple at ComicCon, Star Wars Celebration, the Force Awakens Premier, and you name it. I love all of Gary's photos at events and meeting fans. I'm so happy that Gary was such an incredible companion to Carrie Fisher a truly incredible woman. RIP Carrie!
And when the news broke today of Carrie’s passing, Gary followed with a message to his mom that broke our hearts and made us weep:
