What You Need To Know About Chris Pine's New Rescue Pit Bull

Actor Chris Pine, 41, is officially a proud pup parent to two rescue dogs, as reported by People magazine. The “Star Trek” star got his new furry friend, who he has named Babs, from Wags and Walks, a rescue based in Los Angeles. The non-profit organization uploaded pictures of the adorable pooch, originally called Chowder, and her sister, Gumbo, on their Instagram account. According to the post’s caption, Babs is a 3-month-old pit bull and enjoys “taking naps,” as well as “eating.”

“We are the sweetest pups and will make great additions to homes that are prepared for the rewards and challenges of raising a puppy,” read a portion of the post’s caption.

An Instagram user named Jessica Murphy said that she had fostered Babs and shared some information about the precious pup in the comments section.

“I foster chowder. She is a doll. Very loving with all people! She is having an awesome time learning the ropes from our pittie. [heart-eye emoji],” read the comment

PopSugar reported that Pine became a devoted dog dad to his older pit bull, Wednesday, six years ago. Before moving in with the “Wonder Woman” star, the furry friend was living at North Central Shelter, located in Los Angeles, California. The rescue shared a sweet snap of Pine and his canine companion in celebration of her adoption with their Instagram followers. The picture featured the actor posing with the sweet little lady in front of the shelter’s sign.

“Super handsome guys adopt dogs too! And sweet Pit Bulls at that. #chrispine came to @northcentralshelter to find his new best friend and little Wednesday Weld won the lottery. Happy Trails, guys! And thank you for adopting from your local shelter. #adoptdontshop #shelterdogs #pitbull #blackdog #love,” read the post’s caption.

For those concerned that Wednesday and Babs may have a sibling rivalry, there is no need to worry. While speaking to People magazine, a representative of Wags and Walks shared that the pups have a "sweet and playful bond."

Here at Woof Republic, we love that Pine decided to adopt, instead of shop. We also think it's awesome that he has a fondness for pit bulls, who are often demonized!
