Actress Reese Witherspoon shared she is mourning her beloved dog, Hank.

The Independent reported that Witherspoon let her social media followers know her furry friend had passed away at the age of 14 in an August 7 Instagram Story. She uploaded a picture of the gorgeous Chocolate Labrador, along with a heartbreaking caption.

“We will miss your sweet spirit, Hank. Thank you for being the best family pet and pack leader,” wrote Witherspoon.

According to the publication, Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, fathered by her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, took to Instagram and also uploaded a post honoring Hank. Phillippe shared a black-and-white picture of the pup with her social media followers.

“14 ½ years of pure love & constant tail wagging. The job was ‘family pet’ & he excelled at it. Thanks Hanky for reminding us that every day is the best day ever. 🤍,” read the caption of the August 7 post.

Several social media users flocked to the post’s comments section to express their condolences.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. May his memory always be a blessing. ❤️,” wrote one commenter.

Fans of Witherspoon are well aware she is a massive dog-lover. She regularly includes her furry friends in her social media uploads. For instance, in October 2023, the actress posted a picture of her and her French Bulldog, Minnie Pearl, posing in matching sweaters.
