Several of Bacon’s famous friends shared their condolences in the comments section.

“I’m sorry for your loss😢❤️,” commented Michelle Pfeiffer.

“So sorry. ❤️,” wrote comedian Chelsea Handler.

Sedgwick also shared a poignant tribute to her furry friend on Instagram. The post showed the dog sitting on a bed while chewing on a toy.

Lilly was often featured on Bacon’s Instagram account. For instance, the “They/Them” actor uploaded a picture of the pair taking a nap in October 2021.

“Nothing like a quick dog nap with Lilly. #TBT,” caption the devoted dog dad.

In May 2022, Bacon also shared a snap of him and the dog getting in a “workout.” The 64-year-old posed on the floor with his canine companion by his side.

“Here’s how Lilly and I work out. I do very little and she watches,” wrote the father of two in the post’s caption.

As fans are aware, both Sedgwick and Bacon have been fixtures in Hollywood since the 1980s. While speaking to Today in July 2022, Bacon shared that he felt hesitant to become famous.

“It wasn’t until ‘Footloose’ did I feel like my life had changed. It was terrifying. I think I was conflicted about it. Press, photo sessions. There were autographs. Of course, I loved it on one level it was an acknowledgement that whatever I was going was seen but you know, never moved to L.A. for instance. Like Hollywood, I just don’t – I don’t really feel like Hollywood,” explained Bacon.

Rest in Peace Lilly, you very good girl!
