Singer Kacey Musgraves shared a devastating post about her family dog, Pearl. 

According to People magazine, Musgraves took to her Instagram Stories to share that her furry friend is at the end of her life. She noted that she adopted Pearl when she was 21, 15 years ago. Musgraves shared that her life as a touring country star was not suitable for Pearl, so she gave the dog to her parents, who have absolutely adored her.

“The bond we form with these creatures is a blessing..but a ticking time bomb. An inevitable continuous deposit into a bank of future sadness. So painful but so worth it,” wrote Musgraves. 

As fans are aware, Musgraves also owns an Australian cattle dog named Pepper. Entertainment Weekly reported that Musgraves let her social media followers know that her canine companion "honestly saved [her]” in a couple October 2024 Instagram Stories. She explained that her dog attacked a rattlesnake that could have bitten the singer. According to Musgraves, she immediately drove her pup to a veterinary office once she realized she was bitten. Thankfully, her cattle dog made a full recovery!
