A quaint (and cheap) date idea is to head over to a local cafe that has a dog-friendly patio. You and your partner can order seasonal, Valentine’s Day-themed drinks and delicious pastries. Preferably nothing chocolate, so you can give a bite or two to your precious pooch.

With Valentine’s falling on a Friday, you may want to consider going on a weekend get-a-away. Book two nights at a near-by pet-friendly hotel.  It may not be within your best interest, however, to leave your dog alone in the room, as he’ll be very tempted to order everything off of the room service menu.

For a casual night-on-the-town, stop by a dog-friendly brewery. You and your date can enjoy a round of craft beers at a hip establishment with your pup by your side. While your pooch is far too young to order anything on tap, he would very much appreciate it if you got him a soft pretzel. Think of it as a Valentine’s Day gift.

There’s really nothing more idyllic than going on a picnic with your partner and your pooch. To make the charming activity even more romantic, drive to a scenic location and eat while the sunsets.

If the weather permits, take a drive down to the coast and spend the day strolling on a dog-friendly beach. Not only will Fido love playing fetch on the sand, the gorgeous atmosphere is pretty darn romantic, making it the ideal dog-friendly date. Some dog beaches also allow bonfires, so remember to pack some hot dogs for you, your date, and most importantly, your dog.
