Can I Give My Dog Steak?

Like all dogs, my canine companion is obsessed with steak. It’s gotten to the point that if I eat a piece of steak in front of her without offering her any, she acts as though I’ve committed a serious crime against her. And she will be calling the police.

Because I don’t love receiving silent treatment from my furry friend, I have to admit that I’ve shared steak with her in the past. According to PetMD, this is fine, as long as the steak is fully cooked and not seasoned. In addition, refrain from using oil and butter when cooking the steak for your furry friend. You should also limit the amount of steak you give to your dog to a small piece or two, depending on the size of your canine companion. In addition, you should never give a steak bone to your furry friend as it could cause them to choke.

One last thing – please always check with your dog’s vet before adding new food, like steak, to your furry friend’s diet! Even if steak is a safe food for a majority of dogs, there’s always a chance that it is not healthy for your canine companion.
