For nearly a decade, Billie Eilish has impressed fans with her incredible voice and engaging stage persona. While we enjoy her music, here at Woof Republic we also appreciate that Eilish is a devoted dog mom to a lovely rescue pit bull named Shark. 

Shark appeared in an August 2024 issue of Vogue, titled Dogue. While speaking to the publication, Eilish shared that she decided to foster Shark and his sister Miss Maudie from the Los Angeles organization Angel City Pit Bulls, during the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Eilish ended up foster-failing Shark and gave Miss Maudie to her family friend. 

During the Vogue interview, Eilish shared that she believes Shark is “very loyal to her.” 

“Even if I have a party, he follows me around into every single room I go to. He just always wants to be in the same room as me and I love that. His loyalty is the best, but I love all of his qualities,” said the singer. 

Eilish also noted that she celebrated the release of her new album, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT,” in Los Angeles with the help of Shark in May 2024. While on stage for the album listening party, the acclaimed singer brought out Shark, much to her fans’ delight.

“I’ve always wanted to take him on stage, and I did for my ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ album release event in LA. Because he’s so good with loud noises and overstimulation, he was perfect. But I wish that I could take him everywhere with me. I wish I could take him on my whole tour across the world,” said Eilish. 

In addition, Eilish shared that her furry friend has more in common with humans than he has with other dogs. She clarified that he does have the canine traits of being obsessed with his bone. 

“He likes to bury any kind of bone, but it's not even dog-like. It’s more as if a human had to be a dog and didn’t really know how to bury a bone—that’s how he is,” said the 22-year-old. “He tried to bury a bone in my band member’s guitar case yesterday. He tried to dig a nest and bury a bone into the guitar case.”
