Best Spots To Bring Spot This Winter

With about two months of winter left, I have a confession to make — my dog and I are not super fans of the cold weather. Frankly, if it was up to us, we would be curled up on the couch with piles of blankets until the temperature reached 70 degrees.

However, it’s probably not healthy to live like that. Also, as much as I dislike the cold, I have to admit that winter is one of the most beautiful times of the year.

There are also plenty of dog-friendly areas where you and your furry friend can enjoy the snowy season. Without further ado, here are some of the best spots to bring spots this winter.

As the name implies, Barkwells, located in Mills River, North Carolina, welcomes dogs with open arms. The vacation retreat features numerous dog-friendly cabins. While the property is always gorgeous, it is particularly striking during the winter.

Wisconsin is one of the most scenic states during the winter. You and your furry friend can see some of what the state has to offer at the Justin Trails Resort. Those who are on the adventurous side can hike gorgeous trails and go snow tubing. I, personally, would be more interested in staying warm with my pooch by my side in one of the resort's luxury cabins.

If anyone tells you that California doesn't have white winters, they haven't been to Mammoth Lakes. This area is gorgeous during the winter season. So that your canine companion can experience all that Mammoth has to offer, head over to the dog-friendly Westin Monache Resort.

If you are an avid skier and simply can’t travel without your pooch, look no further than the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, in Lake Placid, New York. If you decide to bring a dog to the winter wonderland, expect to pay an extra $100 fee. Your furry friend will also have to be on a leash when they are outside of your room.

Heathman Hotel

Portland, Oregon is one of the most dog-friendly places in America. The city is also stunning during the winter. Even if you are not a fan of rain, you'll be sure to find a cozy coffee shop to stay nice and dry in. If you have never visited the area with your furry friend, you may be interested in staying in a high-scale hotel Downtown like the Heathman Hotel.
