Best Places To Take Your Dog In San Francisco This Summer

San Francisco is one of the greatest cities on the West Coast. Not only are there so many amazing sights to see, but it has plenty of parks and establishments that are super dog-friendly. This means that is the perfect place to take a vacation with your pup this summer. Here are a few spots in San Fran that you and your furry friend should consider visiting.

Duboce Park Cafe is so dog-friendly that it actually has a dog on its logo. The restaurant is a popular brunch spot in the Duboce Triangle neighborhood, and for a good reason. Not only is the food delectable, but it is also organic and farmed sustainably. The cafe also serves Mitchell’s ice cream, which is a major bonus, especially on hot summer days.

Speaking of ice cream, no trip to San Francisco is really complete without getting something sweet at The Original Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop. While your pup may be rightfully annoyed he can’t have anything from the menu, he’s welcomed to sit by you at the outdoor patio as you enjoy your tasty treat.

Strawberry Hill, Golden Gate Park

Strawberry Hill, located in Golden Gate Park, is a great place to go on a hike with your pooch. The area surrounds the gorgeous Stow Lake. While there are pedal boats available, unfortunately, dogs are prohibited from using them. Unless, of course, they are wearing a very convincing human disguise.

Baker Beach

During the summer, there’s nothing better than going to the beach. We recommend checking out San Francisco’s Baker Beach, which is within viewing distance of The Golden Gate Bridge. This breathtaking beach is also super dog-friendly, so your pup is free to frolic off-leash.

Alamo Square

If your dog is a fan of sitcoms from the ‘90s, head over to  Alamo Square. This dog-friendly area is where they shot the opening of “Full House."

Mutt Lynch Winery

While Mutt Lynch Winery is in Windsor, California, (which is about 50 minutes away from San Francisco), it’s still worth a visit. The establishment was voted as the Most Pet-Friendly Winery in Sonoma County, and there’s no secret why. Not only is the winery accommodating to our furry friends, but they also sell bottles of their handcrafted wine with adorable dog-themed labels. Mutt Lynch’s owner and winemaker, Brenda Lynch, has also raised funds for several animal rescues.
