5 Dog-Friendly Places To Visit In Denver This Summer

If you are planning on taking a trip this summer with your canine companion, consider traveling to Denver, Colorado. Not only is Denver one of the hippest cities in America, but it also happens to be super dog-friendly. If you decide to explore the Mile High City this summer, here are a few places to check out with your dog.

The Watering Bowl is a super dog-friendly establishment located on Leetsdale Drive. It can be best described as a tavern that happens to have a small dog park. Really, what more can you ask for?

The Recess Beer Garden is one of the most popular places to bring your pooch in the Denver area. There are quite a few drink options for those 21 and up, like local beers, alcohol-infused cold brew, and a variety of cocktails. The establishment also has a full food menu with options like corndogs, a summer peach salad, and brisket french dip.

Highlands Cork & Coffee

My ideal summer day is spending my time in a hip coffee shop while enjoying an iced latte and forcing myself to read an actual book instead of mindlessly scrolling on TikTok like I usually do. Unfortunately, not too many coffee shops allow my dog. (She has a lifelong band from Starbucks -- we don’t need to get into it). Anyway, Highlands Cork & Coffee, located in the Historic Highlands neighborhood, allows dogs on its patio. The cafe was once a home built in 1907, which makes going there a unique experience.

If you and your pooch happen to be athletic, head over to Plymouth Creek-Plymouth Mountain Loop. This 6-mile trek offers some gorgeous views. Dogs are welcomed as long as they are on a leash at all times.

Washington Park is a breathtaking place to bring your pooch. According to Denver.org, this gorgeous spot “has two lakes, two formal flower gardens, tree-lined paths and seemingly endless expanses of green grass.” Needless to say, it’s an incredible area to have a picnic with your pooch!
